Rycon was awarded the general trades contract for this multi-prime $40 million three-story 51,000 sq. ft. LEED Silver classroom, lab, and culinary facility on this urban campus for high-demand jobs including those in the STEM fields. The building holds space for Cybersecurity, Robotics Technology, Information Technology, Process Technology, Plastic Technology, Additive Manufacturing and Culinary/Bakery. The culinary area includes a visible showcase kitchen/cafe. The structure is steel frame, concrete slab on grade/decking with concrete shear walls and foundations walls sitting on a combination of deep and shallow foundations. Site work included plazas, walkways, stairs, and outdoor teaching area as well as a connection to an existing building south of the site. Exhaust systems were provided for the kitchen and advanced manufacturing labs and the building includes a DDC system with a BAS platform and user interface.
