Project Scope

Renovation
As part of the LeBron James Family Foundation’s partnership with Akron Public Schools, the 400 W Market St site expanded to include seventh and eighth grade. The first floor was renovated into two science labs, kitchen prep, and a classroom.
Science Labs
New casework with epoxy countertops and sinks was installed in the lab, along with acid waste piping for plumbing and upgraded electrical fixtures and power.
Kitchen Upgrades
The existing kitchen was upgraded with storage for culinary classes. A new exhaust fan was installed, running through the two-story building to the roof, and a new shaft wall was constructed to accommodate the system.
