Rycon completed a 17,800 sq. ft. three-floor dorm renovation for a non-profit holistic ministry program for at-risk youth. The dorm is utilized for adult community groups visiting Pittsburgh to learn about Urban Impact’s mission work. A 1-bed/1-bath apartment is located on the first level and a temporary partition was utilized to maintain occupancy of an existing office. Level two includes bunk rooms on the east wing, centralized bunk rooms, communal restrooms, training room, and resource room. The top level has (4) 2-bed/1-bath apartments, (2) 1-bed/1-bath apartments, a studio apartment, activity space, and kitchen. The project included demolition, new elevator addition with a glass curtainwall and metal panel facade, reconfiguration of interior layout, HVAC upgrades to complement the existing boiler heating system, and exterior improvements for additional parking and sidewalks.
