Carnegie of Homestead

Project Scope

Historic Renovation
Rycon revitalized a historic 1898 building housing a library, 1,047-seat music hall, and athletic club. Interior renovations focused on the theatre lobby and balcony, locker rooms, pool lobby, and boiler room. Exterior work involved masonry restoration, new pavers, an oak door with canopy, parking lot improvements, and foundation waterproofing.
Infrastructure
Major upgrades included a full fire alarm system, new elevator, MEP enhancements, new rooftop DOAS unit, replacement of stage lighting and dimmer rack, and life safety improvements.
Cost Control
Rycon used a hoist and conveyor system to overcome limited access during construction, accelerating material handling and schedule. Detailed cost management allowed significant unused allowances to be returned to the Owner.
