Project Scope

Ground-Up
Rycon built this new life sciences building. The steel-framed two-story structure is constructed of a combination of brick and insulated metal panels on either a metal stud or CMU backup system, depending on the relationship to grade and loadbearing or shear walls. The scope included demolition of a lyceum.
Labs
The two-story type IIB building holds a clinical lab, simulation suites, wet/dry labs including chemistry labs with fume hoods and exhaust snorkles, biology lab, telemedicine space, computer lab, and offices for nursing and science programs. DIRTT headwall systems were also installed throughout.
LEED Silver
Designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification, the project received a $500,000 grant from the Redevelopment Assistance and Capital Program (RACP). Rycon self-performed casework, concrete, and carpentry.
