Rycon held the general trades contract for three phases of the LEED Silver Hillman Library overhaul. The work included renovation of ground level, first through third floors, and a 15,500 sq. ft. three-story entry addition.
The overall scope highlights include a new stair tower addition, replacement of the exterior raised plaza, reconfigurations, mechanical system upgrades, abatement, new efficient lighting, distribution of power/wireless signal, replacement of windows and roof, new exterior accessible ramp, new elevator, and modernization of existing elevators. A three-story entry was added to provide a grand entrance, handicapped access, and new monumental stair.
The library features space for archives and special collections, offices, maker space, data lab, group study, workrooms, and curated collections.
