Rycon completed this 21,000 sq. ft. project which consisted of an all new lobby level and bank tenant area bulkheads and cove lighting surrounding new upscale acoustic ceiling systems and decorative lighting. Work included a temporary lobby space consisting of finished drywall, acoustic ceilings, temporary sprinkler and light systems. The temporary lobby allowed the tenants of the building full access to the elevators, escalators, bank and coffee café while construction was conducted above on a temporary scaffold platform. A new permanent mechanical mezzanine was constructed over the existing lobby level bank allowing the bank to remain in operation throughout the project.
As a follow-up to the 11 Stanwix lobby renovation entrance project, Rycon was selected again to perform the exterior plaza rejuvenation. The project, while situated in a center city downtown locale, with little or no staging area needed to allow for business as usual for the thousands of 11 Stanwix occupants and visitors each day. The work area was located two stories above street level which presented the team with logistical challenges that would normally be quite routine. Every piece of demolition debris and every new component had to either be lifted down, or hoisted up, using cranes or pumps with no street staging allowed. The entire granite façade was carefully removed, and reinstalled to allow the new waterproofing membrane installation, new stained and or exposed aggregate concrete sidewalks were installed along with the state of the art granite lined bocce court.
