The structure holds an emergency department with full med gas capabilities, 10 inpatient beds, imaging services including CT and X-ray, and an on-site laboratory. The nursing stations are uniquely configured to maximize sightlines and accessibility, allowing staff to easily monitor exam rooms and minimize response times. Early involvement with the design team facilitated an expedited preconstruction process. This included early procurement strategies, GMP development during design development stages, and accelerating the subcontractor award process all while maintaining the project budget. The site package included a large mine grouting scope to infill an old room and pillar coal mine located 40 feet below ground. This required drilling approximately 290 six-inch holes and placing over 3,000 CY of grout. The site also included approximately 30,000 sq. ft. of slope stabilization/rock bolting.
