West Virginia University Milan Puskar Training/Locker Room

Scope

Rycon was awarded this 6,800 sq. ft. renovation of the existing training room for the WVU football team and installation of a Hydroworx underwater treadmill. Rycon also built-out an undeveloped basement area adjacent to the training room which doubled the size of the training area. Access was created through two new openings approximately 20 ft. and 12 ft. wide through the existing foundation walls, one of which was two-foot thick. A hydrotherapy pool area was created in the undeveloped basement area and includes three new pools and a stone water feature wall that is 30 ft. long. Each pool is a different temperature: chilled water, mid temperature, and hot. The lights in the 180-linear ft. light cove, the pools, and the water feature wall have the option of four different colors and are coordinated with lighting control panel. Hydrotherapy and treatment area are divided by a frame-less glass wall and all the walls have stone veneer with two large etched stone WVU logos. Additional scope included new flooring, ceilings, walls, and lighting, and Rycon’s Casework & Millwork Division fabricated the cabinets and training tables for athletes.
