This 52,000 sq. ft. project consisted of renovations to meet the standards of a USP 800/797 compliant pharmacy, Clean Room, laboratory, and office space. The facility, which specializes in chemotherapy and multiple sclerosis medications, among other compounded medications, features a first floor pharmacy and Clean Room. These areas included antimicrobial wall coverings, epoxy flooring, stainless steel wall coverings, lab hoods, and negative and positive pressure areas. The second floor office upgrades included conference rooms, locker rooms, state-of-the-art cooler system, walk-in refrigerators, storage, a lactation room, and a cafeteria. The project consolidated five different locations into one single space. In addition, a hazardous storage room, hazardous sterile compounding room, TPN compounding areas, a high risk compounding area, and an antibiotic compounding room were constructed. The loading dock attached to the building also contains a hazardous materials receiving room for medicine screening. The ceilings featured an integrated HEPA filter defusing system, while new rooftop units and medical storage freezers were also included in the scope. Due to 24/7 operations, work included installing a one meg generator for the entire building for emergency power in case of an outage. Security implementations included card reader access to the building, an interlock door control system, and an intercom system.
