Rycon was awarded a GMP contract for a new multi-story addition to house four (4) new emergency generators. The building will include a shelled basement, facility
workshops on the first level, and a two-story generator plant for a total of three (3) stories above grade. The work includes a replacement of the existing automatic transfer switches for emergency power for the entire hospital. The scope requires the replacement of an existing 40,000 gallon fuel tank, and three natural gas-fired boilers will be replaced with four (4) gas boilers. Since the hospital requires multiple operational boilers, coordination and sequencing will be a key factor. A new metal panel wrapped chimney for the boiler exhausts will be installed while an existing 170’ brick stack will be demolished. Rycon is self-performing concrete, drywall, and casework.
