Haverford Township Free Library

Rycon was awarded the general trades contract for this multi-prime $20 million project consisting of a 39,000 sq. ft. renovation of two floors which also includes the lower level library, a new 5,000 sq. ft. second floor addition over the existing parking lot, and related sitework. The project adds an additional 30% of usable space. Demolition includes the removal of asbestos-containing products, removal of interior and exterior walls, roof and floor assemblages, and MEP systems. The renovated space will feature meeting spaces, a caterer’s kitchen, book and non-print stacks, reading areas, offices, and board room. Additional work includes an updated elevator, improved electrical, HVAC upgrades, and security system. The exterior is a combination of EIFS, manufactured stone, paint, aluminum frame windows, EPDM roofing, masonry repairs, foundation drainage system, and waterproofing. Site work includes storm water management system, utilities extensions, grading, road construction, driveways, parking lot, fencing, and sidewalks. The project received a $1 million grant from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) and a $750,000 Keystone Grant Award.
