Rycon was awarded the general trades contract for this $30 million addition and alteration to the existing Falls Township Municipal Complex. The completed building will be 60,000 sq. ft. (1st floor 47,000 sq. ft., 2nd floor 13,000 sq. ft.). Major building assemblies include masonry cavity wall construction, upgraded metal panel and decorative masonry facades, aluminum framed curtainwall glass box creating two-story grand atriums at the building entrances, and new EPDM roofing. Site work and improvements consist of drainage, utilities, paving, landscaping, and fencing to create easier navigation. The project will revamp the finance, parks and recreation, police, clerks, tax collector, and public works spaces. The first floor police department will hold private offices, locker rooms, break room, evidence rooms, lab, and holding cells. The township administration will be on the second floor along with a fitness center, community room, meeting rooms, incubator space, and collaboration space. High-end finishes will include terrazzo flooring, wood ceilings, and custom casework. The Responsible Contractor Ordinance for this project requires at least 70% of the craft labor workforce to be a graduate journeyperson from an apprenticeship training program or state apprenticeship agency, or enrolled in a registered apprentices program.
