The project involved replacing the deaerator (DA) tank within the West Penn Hospital Service Building. The existing unit had reached the end of its service life, and its replacement was critical to maintaining hospital operations. The scope included full removal of the existing tank, installation of new piping and valves, a new flash tank, and updated control systems. Additional work included cutting and patching the roof for new vent piping, as well as painting all newly installed piping. Economizers were installed on all three existing boilers, which also required re-tubing and new control systems to improve efficiency and performance.
