University of Pittsburgh Litchfield Towers Eatery

Successfully scoring the best out of five construction managers after a competitive RFP and interview process, Rycon was awarded a GMP contract to renovate Pitt’s largest dining facility in multiple phases over two consecutive summer breaks. The scope encompassed 57,000 sq. ft. of front of house/back of house renovations on the lower level, minor lobby work, and replacing the existing dining hall with multiple food concepts to accommodate the student’s culturally diverse preferences. The venues include a convenience store, Kosher Korner, Food Truck Incubator, Unwind, Briny Pickle, Farm Stand, Flourish, Table 33, and Kokumi. They each have their own equipment and POS systems. Features included a new entrance off Forbes Avenue, enlarged windows for more natural light, mixed seating, collaborative spaces, and complete infrastructure upgrades to the systems.
