Completed in phases, this challenging project involved the placement of rooftop steel for new window washing equipment on this 45-story skyscraper. A helicopter was utilized to lift the new washing units to the roof. Logistics and safety were paramount for this difficult process. Items were lifted in the morning hours on a Saturday to avoid the bustling business district. Tracking framing was installed at roof levels on floors 40, 44 east, 44 west, and the penthouse. The project involved working on occupied floors for the installation of reinforced steel below the roof levels. All work was completed on off-hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and the phases included “landing zones” for washing unit placement.
