Cabinetmakers – Casework & Millwork Division   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc.'s Casework & Millwork Division, located in Oakdale, PA, is seeking cabinetmakers experienced in laminate cabinet and countertop construction, solid surface countertops, low wall construction, wood veneer custom items, etc. Finishing experience is a plus. This is a union position which includes a generous benefit package. Candidates must have five (5) years' experience. Must have excellent communication skills, blueprint/shop drawing reading skills and the ability to be self directed/self perform all aspects of casework and millwork construction. Estimator    |   Atlanta

Rycon Construction, Inc., is seeking an experienced construction estimator to join our Atlanta team.

 

The position requires a minimum of five (5) years' experience cost estimating commercial construction projects to include commercial new/ground up construction, interior renovation/tenant improvement, and fit-out projects valued up to $10 million. The successful candidate must be experienced in quantity take-offs and have the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Prior experience with multiple bid styles is desirable (Lump Sum, Competitive Bid, Cost Plus, and Negotiated/GMP). Computer skills are required in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) in addition to Microsoft Project and On-Screen Takeoff. Knowledge of the southeastern US market is preferred, but not required.

Rycon Construction, Inc., is seeking an experienced construction estimator to join our Cleveland team.

 

The position requires a minimum of five (5) years' experience cost estimating commercial construction projects to include new/ground up construction, interior renovation/tenant improvement, and fit-out projects valued to $20 million. The successful candidate must be experienced in quantity take-offs and have the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Estimator    |   Ft. Lauderdale

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced construction estimator to join our Ft. Lauderdale team.

 

The position requires a minimum of three (3) years' experience cost estimating commercial/industrial/retail construction projects to include ground-up construction, interior renovation/tenant improvement, and fit-out projects valued up to $10 million.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-5 Years estimating/project management experience.
  • Experience in commercial, industrial or retail construction.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • English/Spanish speaking preferred.
  • BCCE/construction management preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review client RFPs.
  • Prepare bid documents and subcontractor ITBs.
  • Review and scope drawings, specifications, and project manuals.
  • Prepare detailed and job-specific scopes of work.
  • Procure, scope, and file subcontractor proposals.
  • Provide value engineering.
  • Prepare project estimates and budgets.

Estimator – Casework & Millwork Division   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced millwork estimator for our rapidly growing Casework & Millwork Division located in Oakdale, PA. The successful candidate should have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in estimating commercial casework and millwork up to $1 million and possess ability to multitask and be highly organized in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity to grow within a division of our well-established company.

 

Basic Responsbilities:

  • Translate architectural drawings to perform detailed take off and itemized lists of materials
  • Create detailed scopes or work based on architectural drawings or narratives
  • Acquire unit pricing and quotes for varying types of materials for each project
  • Work with subcontractors to determine install and subcontracted work and associated costs
  • Interpret division 06400 specifications (and associated) for compliance and build standards
  • Develop written proposals and pricing for review and possible presentation
  • Travel to job sites to develop/determine scope required to meet clients' needs

Marketing & Proposal Coordinator   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced marketing & proposal coordinator to join our team in the Pittsburgh office.


Primary Responsibilities & Duties

  • Produce and accurately assemble proposals, presentations, and statements of qualifications.
  • Lead kickoff meetings, identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and develop a production schedule.
  • Assist with the completion of tasks, adhering to proposal schedule, drafting/editing text, scheduling reviews, final submittal production and delivery.
  • Collaboration with various internal Rycon teams throughout all four offices (Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Cleveland, and Ft. Lauderdale) as well as outside consultants to create compelling, bold, innovative, and accurate proposal and presentation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain proposal materials, research, and other miscellaneous coordination including the use of internal database information to support proposal compilation.
  • Writing and editing resumes.
  • Maintenance of company brand throughout all documents.
  • Collaboration with operations and business development to identify best opportunities.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of graphics for various marketing materials and presentations.

 

Secondary Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist marketing team with various tasks such as social media updates, newsletter, event planning, signage, project portfolio descriptions, etc.
  • Actively promoting Rycon Construction within the industry through networking.


Qualifications:

  • B.S. Marketing or related degree is preferred, but not required.
  • 3+ years marketing experience preferably in the A/E/C industry.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Preferred, but not required, knowledge of Adobe Lightroom, Dreamweaver, and/or other pertinent software programs.
  • Must have experience producing and assembling proposals and presentations.
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling software is a plus.
  • Photography and photo editing knowledge.
  • Must be flexible, able to work under pressure continuously meeting project deadlines.
  • High level of design sensibility and graphics capabilities.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent skills in time management, organizing, writing, proofreading, and editing.
  • Strong set of personal and business values, high energy, and self-directed.
  • Proven track record of success in marketing roles.
  • CRM software experience is a plus.

Scheduling Engineer – Building Group   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking a scheduling engineer to join Rycon's Building Group. The Building Group is responsible for providing planning and scheduling support for all department projects.

The scheduling engineer's primary role is to carry out planning and scheduling functions related to the project scheduling activities and project execution of all Building Group projects. Program including analysis and evaluation of project schedules, project execution strategies, analysis of work breakdown structure and resource requirements.

Minimum requirements:

  • As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction/Project Management from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is acceptable.
  • You will have five (5) years' experience in planning and scheduling projects including at least three (3) years related to construction work in commercial, light industrial, institutional, residential development projects and or multifamily residential projects.
  • You must have working knowledge in Critical Path Network methods using P6 Primavera and MS Project.
  • You must have experience in planning and scheduling major capital projects.
  • Related experience as part of construction/project management or Architects/Engineers offices is necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare plans and schedules for all phases of project development.
  • Assess and reviews development plans and construction schedules.
  • Assist the project team with schedule development, invoice verification against the schedule, actual against progress status and recommend corrective actions to meet the project/construction schedule.
  • Create master schedules for all projects and provide updates every two weeks.
  • Review project completion schedules and dates including durations for the engineering, material procurement, and mechanical completion as well as on-stream dates.
  • Identify potential impact at the project and program levels.
  • Provide support to the project team in the reviews of Request for Change Orders (RFCOs) for schedule impact.
  • Participate in the analysis of all Building Group projects to plan the most effective execution sequence in light of experience and current industry practices.
  • Discuss, coordinate and resolve long term and short-term planning and scheduling problems with team members.

Senior Estimator – Building Group    |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction Inc. is seeking a senior estimator to join our Building Group team in Pittsburgh.

 

This position requires a minimum of five (5) years' experience estimating commercial construction projects ranging from $5 million to $75 million with the ability to lead a project estimate in a negotiated or hard bid setting from inception to contract execution. A related college degree is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate must have the ability to perform quantity take-offs. Computer skills are required in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and preferred in Microsoft Project, Planswift, and MC2.

 

Rycon's Building Group specializes in the new construction of office, health care, multi-unit residential, higher education, and retail buildings. Relevant experience in these segments is preferred, but not required.

Senior Project Manager – Special Projects Group    |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking a senior project manager to join our Special Projects Group.

 

This opening requires a minimum of seven (7) years experience managing commercial construction projects preferably in the renovation and fit-out disciplines with values up to $5 million. Ideal candidate should have a wide breadth of commercial contracting experience from health care to retail.

Superintendent – Capital Projects   |  Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking a capital projects superintendent to join our team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in a superintendent role on multiple projects valued from $25M - $100M+ OR
  • Hold a Construction/Engineering/Architectural degree paired with 10+ years of experience on multiple projects valued from $25M - $100M+.

 

Other requirements of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced knowledge of associated trades including site work, concrete, steel erection, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, finish trades, site layout including instrumentation, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts, and specifications.
  • Knowledge on safety regulations, and enforcement of such.
  • Experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors, and equipment.
  • Maintaining Owner and Architect relations.
  • Basic computer skills are required (Email, Microsoft Office, etc.) with prior scheduling software experience a plus.

The successful candidate will supervise the overall field operations of a capital project, while managing and coordinating the efforts of multiple superintendents under their direction.

Superintendent – Traveling   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking traveling superintendents to join our Pittsburgh team.

The successful candidates must be able to travel and manage out-of-town work. Experience in the retail/big box market a plus. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years construction supervisory experience in new construction and/or renovation/fit-out disciplines. Project values up to $10+ million are desirable. The applicant must have advanced knowledge of associated trades in all aspects of commercial construction. Must be able to read and interpret drawings, contracts and specifications.
