Administrative Assistant   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced administrative assistant to join our Pittsburgh team. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to five (5) to seven (7) project engineers and project managers across multiple construction projects.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of three (3) years recent office experience with a track record of high achievement.
  • A cordial disposition with a highly self-driven sense of motivation.
  • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment with a fanatical attention to detail.

Business Development Manager   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced business development manager to join our team in the Pittsburgh office.

The business development manager (BDM) provides support toward the procurement effort by actively gathering information on potential opportunities, managing CRM, arranging introductory events with project influential owner personnel with appropriate Rycon management, gain insights in to owner tendencies on decision making process.

The BDM will facilitate and manage various forms of research to gain understanding of a client’s process and internal structure. The BDM’s research will streamline Rycon’s ability to determine an applicable and appropriate client development strategy.

 

Essential job functions Iinclude and not limited to:

  • Focus on key market development as determined by Rycon leadership.
  • Research clients, partners, market trends, immediate and future project opportunities.

Qualifications:

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced draftsman to join our rapidly growing Casework & Millwork Division located in Oakdale, PA. This opening requires 3-5 years’ experience with AutoCAD preparing production drawings in a woodworking, casework, and millwork environment. CNC Programming experience with Cabinet Vision or Alpha Cam is a major plus.

Entry Level Accounts Payable Staff Accountant   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. has an immediate opening for an entry level accounts payable position in Pittsburgh, PA.

A college or associates degree in business, accounting, or related field is preferred. Other requirements of the position include:

  • A working knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
  • A proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to work effectively with internal personnel and external vendors and subcontractors.
  • The individual will be responsible for verifying and entering contracts, purchase orders, insurance certificate information, subcontractor’s invoice and vendor’s invoice into our computerized system.
  • The individual will also schedule and process payments on a weekly basis to vendors and subcontractors, submit credit applications, organize and match receipts to corresponding invoices, process joint check agreements, investigate and resolve questions from subcontractors and vendors regarding payment status and prepare written reports and analysis as requested.
  • The individual must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team and must have strong organization and time management skills.

High energy level and multitasking abilities are required in assisting estimators on bid or negotiated projects. Job duties include the solicitation of subcontractors and suppliers by phone, fax, and email. Professional telephone presence and business writing are a must. The position requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience cost estimating commercial/industrial/retail construction projects to include ground-up construction, interior renovation/tenant improvement, and fit-out projects valued up to $10 million.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-5 Years estimating/project management experience.
  • Experience in commercial, industrial or retail construction.

Estimator – Casework & Millwork Division   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced millwork estimator for our rapidly growing Casework & Millwork Division located in Oakdale, PA. The successful candidate should have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in estimating commercial casework and millwork up to $1 million and possess ability to multitask and be highly organized in a fast-paced environment. Basic Responsbilities:

  • Translate architectural drawings to perform detailed take off and itemized lists of materials
  • Create detailed scopes or work based on architectural drawings or narratives
  • Acquire unit pricing and quotes for varying types of materials for each project
  • Work with subcontractors to determine install and subcontracted work and associated costs
  • Interpret division 06400 specifications (and associated) for compliance and build standards
  • Develop written proposals and pricing for review and possible presentation
  • Travel to job sites to develop/determine scope required to meet clients’ needs

Human Resource Manager   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction Inc. is seeking a human resource manager to join our team.

The human resource manager will be responsible for coordinating the following: talent acquisition and onboarding, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, organizational development activities, employee communication, human resource aspects of payroll, and human resource compliance.

 

Primary Responsbilities:

  • Develop and administer an effective talent management program to include manpower planning, recruitment and orientation, filling internal positions, and onboarding to ensure a strong bench is in place to operate the organization
  • Recruit and fill key positions.
  • Support company leadership in interactions with union and ensuring a strong working relationship with union representatives.
  • Work with finance to ensure all relevant employee information is properly and timely uploaded and maintained in payroll.
  • In conjunction with broker and CFO, design and administer health and welfare benefit programs to attract, motivate, reward, and retain employees. Troubleshoot issues and advocate for employees where appropriate.
  • Design and manage the performance management program for the organization. Support management team in performance appraisal process and provide counsel on corrective action, where appropriate.
  • Manage human resource-related compliance efforts.
  • Administer all leave programs to include FMLA, workers’ compensation, and disability programs.
  • Provide support and counsel to all members of the leadership team on workplace matters.
  • Contribute to a positive employee relations environment. Foster a collaborative culture. Focus on employee engagement.
  • Introduce best practices to the organization in all human resource functional areas.
  • Identify the need for new or updated human resource policies and procedures and communicate to the organization.
  • Support the executive leadership team in communicating to employees through town halls and other methods.

 

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field. SHRM certification is a plus.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5-7 years as a human resource generalist, with at least two years at a human resource manager level in a small/one-person human resource department. Experience in a multi-state environment is a plus.
  • Experience in the construction or similar industry with field locations, a definite plus.
  • Experience with multi-employer unions is a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of state-of-the-art human resource practices in all functional areas.

Marketing & Proposal Coordinator   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced marketing & proposal coordinator to join our team in the Pittsburgh office.


Primary Responsibilities & Duties

  • Produce and accurately assemble proposals, presentations, and statements of qualifications.
  • Lead kickoff meetings, identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and develop a production schedule.
  • Assist with the completion of tasks, adhering to proposal schedule, drafting/editing text, scheduling reviews, final submittal production and delivery.
  • Collaboration with various internal Rycon teams throughout all four offices (Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Cleveland, and Ft. Lauderdale) as well as outside consultants to create compelling, bold, innovative, and accurate proposal and presentation strategies.

Qualifications:

Scheduling Engineer – Building Group   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking a scheduling engineer to join Rycon’s Building Group. The Building Group is responsible for providing planning and scheduling support for all department projects.

The scheduling engineer’s primary role is to carry out planning and scheduling functions related to the project scheduling activities and project execution of all Building Group projects. Program including analysis and evaluation of project schedules, project execution strategies, analysis of work breakdown structure and resource requirements.

Minimum requirements:

  • As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction/Project Management from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is acceptable.
  • You will have five (5) years’ experience in planning and scheduling projects including at least three (3) years related to construction work in commercial, light industrial, institutional, residential development projects and or multifamily residential projects.
  • You must have working knowledge in Critical Path Network methods using P6 Primavera and MS Project.
  • You must have experience in planning and scheduling major capital projects.
  • Related experience as part of construction/project management or Architects/Engineers offices is necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare plans and schedules for all phases of project development.
  • Assess and reviews development plans and construction schedules.
  • Assist the project team with schedule development, invoice verification against the schedule, actual against progress status and recommend corrective actions to meet the project/construction schedule.
  • Create master schedules for all projects and provide updates every two weeks.
  • Review project completion schedules and dates including durations for the engineering, material procurement, and mechanical completion as well as on-stream dates.
  • Identify potential impact at the project and program levels.
  • Provide support to the project team in the reviews of Request for Change Orders (RFCOs) for schedule impact.
  • Participate in the analysis of all Building Group projects to plan the most effective execution sequence in light of experience and current industry practices.
  • Discuss, coordinate and resolve long term and short-term planning and scheduling problems with team members.

Senior Estimator – Building Group    |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction Inc. is seeking a senior estimator to join our Building Group team in Pittsburgh.

 

This position requires a minimum of five (5) years’ experience estimating commercial construction projects ranging from $5 million to $75 million with the ability to lead a project estimate in a negotiated or hard bid setting from inception to contract execution. A related college degree is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate must have the ability to perform quantity take-offs. Computer skills are required in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and preferred in Microsoft Project, Planswift, and MC2.

 

Rycon’s Building Group specializes in the new construction of office, health care, multi-unit residential, higher education, and retail buildings. Relevant experience in these segments is preferred, but not required.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in a superintendent role on multiple projects valued from $25M - $100M+ OR
  • Hold a Construction/Engineering/Architectural degree paired with 10+ years of experience on multiple projects valued from $25M - $100M+.

 

Other requirements of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced knowledge of associated trades including site work, concrete, steel erection, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, finish trades, site layout including instrumentation, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts, and specifications.
  • Knowledge on safety regulations, and enforcement of such.
  • Experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors, and equipment.
  • Maintaining Owner and Architect relations.

Warehouse Help/Driver – Casework & Millwork Division   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc.’s Casework & Millwork Division, located in Oakdale, PA, is seeking warehouse/driving help. Applicant must have a clean driving record and the ability to pass a DOT physical exam. Knowledge of construction materials and familiarity with woodworking terminology is a plus. Duties include pickup and delivery of finished product to job sites, qualified candidate will help load, package and unload finished product in the greater Pittsburgh area (DOT class II vehicles – no CDL required). This is a full-time position available immediately. Pay $15/hr to $18/hr based on qualifications.
