Rycon was the construction manager for an adaptive reuse of two historic buildings in downtown Pittsburgh. The Owner restored the historic character of the Skinny and the John M. Roberts buildings that were originally constructed in the early 1900s. At 5’2” wide and 80’ long, the Skinny Building is the world’s narrowest commercial building. The upper two floors display window art. The Roberts Building holds mixed-use flex office space to support employees. Collaboration was necessary to maintain the facades and ensure interior modifications meet the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation’s and Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) requirements.
