Two Rycon Projects Selected as Finalists in 2013 Building Excellence Awards

Pittsburgh, PA - The Master Builders’ Association (MBA) recently announced two of Rycon's projects, HYATT house and 11 Stanwix Lobby, as finalists in the 2013 Building Excellence Awards! HYATT house Pittsburgh is one of two projects competing for "Best New Construction Between $10 and $25 Million" while the 11 Stanwix Street Office Building Lobby is in the running for "Best Renovation Under $7 Million". Winning projects will be announced at the Construction Industry Evening of Excellence, which will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the Heinz Field East Club. Presented by the MBA, the Evening of Excellence has become the construction industry’s most popular event in our region. This event attracts over 800 construction professionals for an evening of networking and recognizing the MBA Building Excellence Awards. Presented annually, the Building Excellence Awards are the highest and most sought-after commercial construction industry awards in our region.

Wrecking Ball Ceremony Held at Parmatown Mall

Parma, OH - Demolition of the former Parmatown Mall Macy's began the morning of Wednesday, January 29. Over one hundred onlookers braved the sub-zero temperatures to witness the start of the one million square foot redevelopment of the property into The Shoppes at Parma.


Rycon is acting as construction manager on this multi-phased project which will include a new Dick’s Sporting Goods store, junior anchor stores, Marc’s grocery strip mall renovation, five outparcel sites for restaurant/retail/offices and a renovation of a four-story office building. The mall renovation work will consist of a new façade, new JCPenney entrance, food court upgrades, restroom ADA upgrades and general overall mall improvements. Work is expected to be complete by the fall of 2015.
